Happy Birthday Honey.

Addi and I love you so much. You are an amazing dad and I love the way Addi lights up when you walk into the room. She's as crazy about you as I am. I hope you had a wonderful day and I look forward to sharing many more birthdays with you.

I love you. YOU make our life wonderful.

Just Pictures....

I've almost given up on the blogging thing.... It's been a month and I'm just now posting. I figure I'll just post pictures and call it good. Lazy? Probably.

This is Addi and Grandma Jackie at Hannah's when Canon was born.

While we were at Hannah's, Jackie Addi and I drove up to Grandma & Grandpa Jones' house in St. George to visit.

Addi and her Grandma's.

So, the eating thing wasn't going so good so while we were in Vegas, Aunt Hannah gave it a whirl. Addi is doing much better eating these days but I'm willing to bet Aunt Hannah was the one that made it happen. She's just better at the kid thing than I am.

We thought Addi might be teething so we were trying to give her anything to chew on. I bought some bitter biscuits and needless to say, she ate about a half of one and then her OCD mother decided the mess was too much and the biscuits have been shelved. Permanently.

Addi has taken up rolling and can roll like a maniac. She moves across the floor so fast we really can't take our eyes off of her. She is such a happy girl and is really enjoying her mobility. I'm not sure what we'll do once she's crawling. Mike doesn't think it's very far off at all.

In the way of a house update. It's coming along. The master bathroom should be done by this next weekend and it's our goal to be moved in by Thanksgiving. I'll post some house pics once we have "completed" rooms.

Bad, Bad Blogger......

I'm just not good at the blogging thing. I have a hundred other things to do and time seems to go so fast. I'll do my best to catch up.... It's gonna be a little long, so hang in there.

I'm SO OVER our house!!!! I don't think it's ever going to get done, and I've decided I don't care. (well, I do... but I'm going to pretend I don't) So, our countertops got installed and they looked TERRIBLE!!! They were solid surface, and with solid surface there aren't supposed to be seams, and they were everywhere. Mike walked around the kitchen and put peices of tape everywhere he could see a seam and he ended up with close to 15 peices. I was furious, so I told him to call the people, tell them we wanted our money back, and to come get the crap they called countertops. So, now we're back to cabinets without tops. SIGH........ So, I'm over it and I'll just blog about Addi. :)

Addi is growing so fast. She's 6 months old this month and the time has gone so quickly. We just went to the Dr. last Friday and she weighed in at 13lbs. Her body isn't super big, but I think her head makes up for most of the weight. Addi is going through her "people anxiety" stage where she has no interest in people she doesn't know. I took her to work on Thursday for a meeting thinking that the girls in my department could take turns playing mommy, but Addi screamed anytime anyone picked her up.... let alone look at her. It's fun to know she loves her mom, but even better that she knows who I am.
Addi is a huge fan of her Daddy. She lights up when she sees him! On Saturday and Sunday mornings Addi and her dad have "Addi-Daddy" time. They leave the house around 730-800am and are gone for a couple hours. This is great time for me. I get to shower in private, sleep in if I want, or even stare at the wall without having anyone needing me. It's GLORIOUS!!!! Addi will sit quietly as long as she is by her dad. The other day I had been vacuuming and my vacuum cleaner decided to burn up.... actually I just broke the belt.... but I needed Mike to fix it for me. Addi and Daddy were still having their time, so he put her in her Bumbo and they fixed the vacuum cleaner. She was content as content can be.
Because Addi is almost 6 months old we decided to start to introduce food. We attempted to start with the Rice Cereal. As you can tell from the pictures below.... it didn't go so well.

And finally.... my kids just cute. I love her so much. She has little dumbo ears, and a big round head but Mike and I think she is so cute. She makes us laugh every day. We're so lucky to have her in our family.

It's Finally Coming Together....

So again, there has been a delay in my posting. They finally put the cupboard doors on our cabinets and our kitchen is truly breath taking. The wood is gorgeous!!! Mike has ordered counter tops and then the kitchen will be finished. But that's only the kitchen. Mike has also been working hard on the front room and Addi's room. Both have been painted and now just need molding and final touches. Once those are done Mike is taking on the master bedroom and bathroom..... dum, dum, dum.... Another SERIOUS undertaking. Once that's done we can move in and finish everything else.

Here's a picture of how the master bathroom currently looks.... think Mike has a little work to do?

Things in the "world of Addi" are the same. She is growing so fast and is getting really funny. She is a busy, busy girl. I bought her a Bumbo the other day and attempted to have her sit in it. She still is a little top heavy (she still has a hard time holding her big noggin up) and so she's not really stable in it yet. I also bought her the most fabulous new hat. I know it's summer, but I'm hoping it will still fit come Fall. Thanks Aunt Hannah for the great beanie idea.....

More House....

So our cabinets aren't all the way in. We have the nicest guy doing them for us but he forgot to order the doors and so it's still a work in progress. We did get some of our new appliances delivered. You'll see the new fridge in the below pictures. We also have had a new dishwasher, and washer and dryer delivered. So here's the latest pictures.....

And of course Addi..... In her jammies with her Daddy.

Busy! Busy!

So again too much time has gone by since my last post. We've been busy working on our house and slowly but surely it's coming together. Mike has been working at the house every night and sometimes doesn't get home until after midnight. I appreciate the time he puts in there, especially after a full day at work.

In the past couple of weeks Mike has wired the whole house for cable and phones, painted the kitchen, done all of the new lighting in the kitchen and for the past week he's been laying tile in our kitchen and entry way.

This is Mike just starting to lay the actual tile. It's amazing all the prep work that happens BEFORE you even get to start the tile. He has done this all on his own and the finished product is amazing. Tonight he is putting the grout between the tiles and tomorrow our cabinets get installed. I'll post a picture of our almost finished beautiful kitchen tomorrow after the cabinets are in. I can't believe how big it looks compared to what it was.

My little Addi is growing so quickly. She's four months old tomorrow and I can't imagine what life was like before her. She has really turned into a happy baby, and only seems to fuss when she's hungry or tired. Working from home has been interesting with a baby but I appreciate the time with her. Grandma Humble is doing a great job with Addi on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and although I appreciate my time with my girl, I appreciate my time away.

Here are some recent pics of Addi. I can't believe how much she looks like her cousin Gavin when he was a baby!!! I might be the only one who thinks so, but I totally think they look like each other.

Catching Up.....

Today I start my third week back to work since Addi was born. The last two weeks have been very busy. We're remodeling Mikes house so that we can move from my townhouse to his house and Mike has been very busy trying to get things moving so we can get in there. Up until about a week or two ago, the kitchen looked like this: There is now sheet-rock on the wall to the right and Mike is going to paint this week so we can get our floor and cabinets in. Mike was in NY all last week and with him working on the house after work, it's been hard cause Addi and I both miss him at home.

Addi has been going to Grandma Humbles on Tuesdays and Wednesdays while I go to work. She's such a funny girl. I drop her off at Grandma's around 730am, and she is so happy.... until she sees Grandma, then, she cries. It makes a mom feel good to know that their baby is crying because they are leaving. I KNOW it's not because Grandma Humble is scary. Grandma is really a lifesaver because I NEED those days at work. But at the end of the day, I'm excited to pick up my girl. As much of a monster that she is, her smile and big blue eyes makes my every day.

Nail Biter....

Many years ago I was the worst nail biter EVER!!! I've worn acrylic nails for almost 15 years but with Addi around I found that I was scratching her and really the nails were just totally getting in the way. About 3 weeks ago I decided to take off my acrylics and attempt to grow out my nails, really not thinking I'd last more than a couple of days. I'm very pleased with the progress and it's nice to see that the nail biter in me is gone. If you think about it, it is kinda gross........

Whew....

Yep, it's been a good month since I've posted anything. Things have been pretty busy and I'm getting ready to go back to work. Last month Addison and I traveled up to Washington to surprise Grandma Miller for Mothers Day. Aunt Hannah met us in Seattle and we went to visit Grandpa Jones and Grandma Jackie first. They live on a beautiful lake that makes me miss living in Washington. (About the only thing that makes me miss living there. I can't deal with the gray weather. )After a couple of days with them, Addi, Hannah and I went over to Grandma & Grandpa Millers. We got to ride the ferry. Addi slept the whole time and so she didn't get to appreciate the ride to it's fullest.

Grandma Miller was excited to see us and actually screamed when she saw us. We were so pleased that our secret remained a secret. Addi and I spent the week at Grandma Millers house and were able to go to the Pikes Place Market....

Grandma Miller carried Addi around while she slept. I think the cold was getting to her!! Yeah for Grandma!!!!
While at my moms we were also able to spend lots of time with Ramonah and her new baby Maleah. I can't believe how different they look and how different they are from eachother. They are a month apart but Addi looks so much bigger than Maleah.

I think that in this picture Addi's a little jealous of Maleah's hair and Maleah is wondering why Addi doesn't have more. We had such a great time and it was hard to come home.....

Since we've been home not a whole lot of exciting things have happened. I go back to work in a week for 2 days a week but am very lucky to be able to work from home the other 3 days. Grandma Humble will be watching Addi on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so we're excited about that too. I think Addi gets tired of looking at me all day, everyday..... a new face will do her good!!
